EVALUATE AUTHOR’S REASONING AND EVIDENCE
Online and publication authors make use of certain tactics to express their view point, which are supported by the following:
- Facts: literally has to do with information that is proven to be true
- Opinions: your thought or belief about a concept
- Reasoned judgment: it has to do with conclusions that are supported by evidence and reasons i.e. why certain things happen in the first place
NOTE that every author needs to support his/her claims with evidence. And your job on the social studies test is to find out if the author’s claims are supported.
